Job Description

Allegany County Tourism seeks a dynamic and highly organized Tourism Development Manager to support the continued growth of Mountain Maryland as a leading travel destination. This position serves as a key contributor to the county’s tourism development, destination communications, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement efforts. Working directly with the Director of Tourism, the Manager helps shape visitor experiences, strengthen tourism partnerships, coordinate strategic initiatives, and communicate Allegany County’s story through compelling content and destination-focused programming. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong writing ability, project coordination skills, creative thinking, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced public-sector environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications/PR, Business, or related field. A minimum of three years of professional experience in communications, destination marketing, tourism development, project management, or related fields preferred. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
